Today we busied ourselves making Play Dough from scratch, surprisingly enough it takes just 5/10 minuets! and its really fun,so every one can enjoy it!

in life you have to accept that YOUR best laid plans may not always come to pass…ramadhan is sometimes one of the best examples of this.. we make goals..set our sights high…wait for the blessed month to start and then watch it all unfold as the dunya slowly creeps and seeps into the ramadhan bubble we have tried to create for ourselves…

If I have learnt anything, it’s to accept when things aren’t going to go according to plan and then to shift the goalposts slightly to accommodate whatever it is that’s making you drift of course…

Islam and ramadhan is not about being THE perfect muslim, but about beginning the process of honing your character,and striking out on that journey towards becoming a better Muslim…..

Asalaamu’alaikum,

It was one of our goals this week to pray in Jama’at, because as women its sometimes a Barakah that we overlook. There’s great blessing and reward to be had for the women of a household to gather at the appointed times during the day, to congregate in Salat to Allah Ta’ala. Is there ever a sight more beautiful than Muslims bowing their heads in submission to their Rab?

Asalaamu’alaikum,

Insha’allah, these are our goals for this Ramadhan as a family, Have a look and come join us in our Journey:

• complete reading of the qur’an in arabic..and I feel more able to achieve this after having had tajweed lessons
• praying qiyyam
• for the girls and i to pray jama’aat..which we often forget to do…which is a shame because it’s so full of reward masha’allah
• sharing food with both our muslim and non-muslim neighbours
• we’re having a T.V free month insha’allah….
• estbalish more nawafil for the sake of allah
• read collectively (from a well chosen for the month of ramadhan to enhance our eeman kind of book)
• to wake in plenty of time before suhoor to get our meal sorted and to pray nawafil
• after suhoor to pray fajr, read qur’an
• between fajr and dhur, we aim to get the bulk of our cooking and household chores done, and also to tackle our ramadhan craft and our family halaqah,and get our ramadhan lesson done
• feed any non-fasters, pray dhur and then….
• everyone has agreed to have an afternoon siesta…
• after siesta…concentrating on collective reading and handcrafts until asr
• then salat-al-asr and some quiet time to remember allah….
• and preparing the house for guests and final iftar preperations…we generally have quite alot of people coming and going in ramadhan so between asr and maghrib is our busiest time for getting the house and meal sorted
• iftar is our realxation time..men and boys out to the masjid for tarrawih…mint tea….sweet things…and family time…
